Literature Text

Birth a lottery, potential of life.

First glance, our ruler, now starting this strife.

Building foundation, brightest epoch, earth schemes,

First lessons roaring, rise above our drowned screams.

Obey.

Respect.

You're on your own.

Raised hands are few, wisdom's gap far between,

Privates or pub licks, unsalted, unseen,

Old books, poor lessons, test taken as they SAT,

Mornings, nails on chalkboards, still told how to ACT.

Obey.

Respect.

You're on your own.

A business on both sides, choked overcrowd.

The world of promise: no tenure allowed.

Administrators for Administrator's Administrators.

Powerless people, Pointing, next slides for pay,

Learn on your own, debt choking, the only way.

Obey.

Respect.

You're on your own.

Thrown from one ocean into the other.

Apathy our plight, low class assunder.

Few, so few, proud and learned, climbed the chain, now rise,

Full grown fangs new-bared, at the many's demise.

Obey me.

Respect me.

You're on your own.
Had an overload of feelings and angst piled up for this one.

This is my submission for the poetry contest being held here: www.powerpoetry.org/poems/entr…
If you like it, give me a rating on the site, it's for a scholarship so I can get my masters and afford to make indie games without starving to death.

I notice water is a recurring theme in my old writings and it snuck into this.
